About this collection

A collection of about 300 images which portray institutions, people, and events that have played a role in the progress of medicine and medical care in Dallas. (Not including images of UT Southwestern, which are in a separate collection.) Nearly 200 of these Dallas Medical Images illustrate the history of St. Paul Hospital and its predecessor, St. Paul Sanitarium, beginning in the 1890s. The remaining approximately 100 images portray other institutions, people, and events illustrating the history of medicine in Dallas, including over 40 images representing Parkland Hospital.
